Automatic toolhead alignment
XYZ offsets are calibrated automatically, with Snapmaker specifying alignment within 0.04 mm when measured using clean nozzles.
Four toolheads. Five-second swaps. High-speed multi-color and multi-material 3D printing with dramatically less purge waste.
Multi-color · Multi-material · CoreXY
The U1 changes the multi-color workflow by keeping four filaments loaded in four dedicated toolheads. Instead of repeatedly flushing one nozzle between colors, SnapSwap™ exchanges the complete toolhead in seconds.
Each filament has its own hot end, so the U1 can move directly from one color or material to the next. Steel-ball kinematic couplings position and secure every toolhead without extra motors, magnets or manual screws. Snapmaker reports more than one million tested swaps with zero failures.
Four independent extruders make functional material pairing practical. Use PETG or PVA interfaces for cleaner support removal, or combine rigid PETG with flexible TPU in a single design. Every part can receive the material properties it actually needs.
The compact automatic filament system supports auto-loading, run-out detection and Backup Mode, which can continue a job from a matching spool. Official Snapmaker filaments can also be recognized through RFID for faster material setup.
A coordinated calibration and sensing system helps the four-head platform behave with the consistency expected from a premium single-head printer.
XYZ offsets are calibrated automatically, with Snapmaker specifying alignment within 0.04 mm when measured using clean nozzles.
Accelerometer-assisted vibration compensation limits ringing and surface artifacts during rapid directional changes.
Automatic flow compensation adjusts extrusion timing for cleaner corners, steadier lines and sharper details.
The heated bed is mapped automatically to support a uniform, reliable first layer across the build surface.
A 2 MP camera provides live viewing and time-lapse capture for remote job visibility.
Sensors monitor filament, toolhead swaps, build-plate presence, obstructions and power-loss recovery conditions.
The U1 combines a CoreXY motion system with carbon-fiber X-axis rails. Its specified maximum toolhead speed is 500 mm/s, with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s², across a 270 × 270 × 270 mm build volume.
Official machine and material profiles are added to Orca Slicer's proven engine for an optimized U1 workflow.
Start, monitor and control supported print tasks remotely, with access to models, management tools and manuals.
A 320 × 480 on-machine interface keeps local controls and guided system feedback close to the printer.
The U1's color and material flexibility supports personal, educational and professional creative workflows.

Product specifications, performance statements, trademarks and official media are attributed to Snapmaker and are presented for product and partnership evaluation. “Up to 80% lower filament usage” varies by model, color layout and print settings; Snapmaker reports U1 used approximately 17%–47% of the filament required by comparable single-head filament-changing printers in similar lab tests. 3DTCI is presented as a prospective regional reseller; this page does not itself claim or imply existing authorization.
